GUIDELINES & ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMISSION
To qualify the applicant must complete and submit the following:

 Applicant must be a current (2018-2019 school year) member in good standing of the VRHS PTSA.
 Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from Vista Ridge High School.
 Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited college or university or a technical/vocational institute in the summer or fall semester immediately following his/her high school graduation.
 List your accomplishments (resume) in high school to include the following categories: special honors/recognition, awards, extracurricular activities, community involvement, and your work experience.
 Choose two of these accomplishments. Write a brief description (150 words or less) of each and why you chose to pursue each one.
 A letter of recommendation (sealed in an envelope) from a teacher, counselor, or principal in the school you are currently attending. Include your letter of recommendation, in a sealed envelope, with the rest of your required documents.
 A completed application, resume and two activity descriptions, and letter of recommendation must be received by Friday, April 19th, 2019, at 4 p.m., to be eligible for consideration.
SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
Selection is made by a Selection Panel and processed by the Scholarship Committee of the Vista Ridge High School PTSA. Recipient will be acknowledged during the senior awards ceremony on May 21st. Applicant(s) chosen to receive a High School Senior Scholarship must submit a copy of their acceptance letter from the educational institution to the Vista Ridge High School PTSA by August 1, 2019. Upon receipt, a check for the scholarship amount will be sent directly to the educational institution. All entries submitted to Vista Ridge High School PTSA become the property of Vista Ridge High School PTSA and will not be returned. All decisions of the Scholarship Committee are final.

Vista Ridge High School PTSA offers scholarship(s), as permitted by the approved budget, to graduating Vista Ridge High School seniors who will be enrolled in an accredited college or university or a technical/ vocational institute in the summer or fall semester immediately following his/her high school graduation. Funds for the scholarships come from Vista Ridge High School PTSA membership fees, fundraising, and community sponsorships.

PURPOSE OF SCHOLARSHIP: The purpose is to support Vista Ridge High School students who are focused on achieving career goals through higher education. In evaluating each application, the scholarship committee will also consider service and participation in school activities, community involvement, and scholastic merit.
